How are salaries estimated?
We collect market data on median salaries and map them to a statistical distribution.
Usually, most salaries stay around the median with a long tail of higher salaries. The long tail represents roles requiring more specialization, experience and/or management responsibilities. We choose a distribution that matches this data. The salary range moves up and down the distribution depending on years of experience.
What roles do you have salaries for?
We've collected data for office and tech-related roles. We currently cover the following:
Software Engineer, Network Engineer, Biomedical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Mechatronics Engineer, Civil Engineer, Mining Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Chemical Engineer, Cybersecurity Analyst, Data Scientist, Data Engineer, Product Manager, Graphic Designer, UX/UI Designer, Database Administrator, HR Officer, Marketing Analyst, Sales Agent, Accountant, Lawyer, Logistics Officer, Operations Analyst, Office Administrator, Project Manager, Financial Analyst
What can I do with my estimate?
This salary estimator is a starting point for salary research. It may not translate to your current / next position. The estimated salary can be a mental benchmark for reviewing job listings and job offers.
If you're not getting the pay you want, consider doing further research. Look at salaries in your industry and location. Re-assess the non-salary benefits. If you still believe you are not getting a fair deal, consider speaking with your employer about your salary expectations. Discuss potential changes to make your compensation package work better for you. This can include changes outside of salary, such as benefits, scope and schedule.
